Ashfaq Ahmad was born on 22nd of August in 1925 in Firozpur (Punjab) India. He was a great Urdu language writer, magnificent playwright, a nice broadcaster, distinguished intellectual and a big spiritualist from Pakistan. He completed his Masters in Urdu literature from Government College Lahore. Bano Qudsia was his wife is considered one of the best novelists of Urdu, she was his classfellow at Government College while he was studying there.
During his early days of career he got his 1st job in Azad Kashmir radio station and then he started teaching in one collage at Lahore. Thereafter he got a chance to visit Europe, He went to Italy to join Radio Rome as an Urdu newscaster.There in Rome he also got a job at Rome university as Urdu teacher.
After he return from Euorope, he start publishing his own monthly literary magazine named Dastaango and joined Radio Pakistan as a script writer there. Later he was made editor of the popular Urdu weekly, Lail-o-Nahar by the Government of Pakistan.
Ashfaq Ahmed died on 7th of September in 2004 at the age of 79.
