Qurat-ul-Ain Haider is one of the most Popular female Urdu novel writer in Pakistan although she posses Indian nationality, She born on 20th of January in 1928. She was a very influential Urdu novel writer and short story writer, was an excellent academic, and a very good journalist.
She has written so many Novels, but she is most known for her great work, Aag Ka Darya, an urdu novel which was first published in 1959, from Pakistan, that gain a very much internationl fame and was a great jewel of that time and in the literature of Urdu, the novel is stretches from the 4th century BC to post partition of India, is considered one of her best novels.
She received the following award in her life,
- Sahitya Akademi Award in Urdu for Patjhar Ki Awaz (Short stories) in 1967
- Jnanpith Award for Akhire Shab Ke Humsafar in 1989
- The Sahitya Akademi Fellowship in 1994
- Padma Bhushan from the Government of India in 2005
- Safeenah -e- Gham -e- Dil by Qurat -Ul- Ain Haider
- Housing Society by Qurat-ul-Ain Haider
- Aag Ka Darya by Qurat-ul-Ain Haider
